Texas News-LeFleur Transportation is Awarded Three New Medicaid Contracts in Texas

The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) has selected LeFleur Transportation to manage the non-emergency transportation needs of Medicaid clients in three HHSC Managed Transportation Organization (MTO) Regions.

HHSC announced contract awards following a competitive procurement process.

The three regions that LeFleur will manage cover 71 counties in South, South Central, and Northwest Texas. Approximately 30 percent of the state's Medicaid population resides in these regions.

These new contracts help Texas move from a fee-for-service transportation model to a capitated model to enhance program efficiency, improve client care, and save taxpayers money.

"LeFleur has a 12-year history serving Texas Medicaid clients. The award of these contracts is a testament to our dedication and flexibility as a prime contractor with HHSC's medical transportation program." said Mike Ford, Vice President and CFO of LeFLeur.

"We are excited to continue our work with HHSC and to help lower program costs while continuing to provide safe, high quality services that ensure access to vital healthcare."

LeFleur is adding more than 100 employees to its Texas operations. More than 50 of these new employees will work from LeFleur's Call Center located in Edinburg, Texas. These bilingual call center agents will serve residents in all three of LeFleur's regions.

LeFleur also has facilities in San Antonio and Amarillo, as well as other locations strategically placed throughout the three regions.

LeFleur has provided non-emergency medical transportation services in Texas since 2001. The Texas Medicaid program covers transportation for eligible clients to ensure that they have access to medically necessary services.
